In this case Metro police believe a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling west on I-64 approaching the entrance to the ramps for the Watterson Expressway.  The initial investigation determined the pickup truck rear ended a Chevy Equinox, and then hit the back of a Cadillac.  Police believe the Equinox and the Cadillac were stopped in traffic prior to impact.  The driver of the Ram pickup truck was evidently distracted, or impaired, before the fatal collision occurred.

One of the occupants in the Equinox lost their life, and two others in the vehicle were transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
